Lodestar American Whiskey Review

Lodestar American Whiskey Review

Distilled by MGP in Lawrenceburg, IN

Proof: 90°

The blend components:

3+ year unpeated single malt

4+ year bourbon

The bourbon component mashbill:

60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley

Nose 👃: Vanilla. Coffee. Malt. Nutmeg..

Palate 👅: Buttered toffee. Cinnamon.  Nutmeg. Lemon zest. Nilla Wafer. Rye spice. Pleasantly oily mouthfeel.

Finish 🏁: Malt. Vanilla. Pound cake. Dry. Long in length.

Overall thoughts?  I love a fun blend… and blending bourbon and single malt is fun and unique.  If you’re looking for something different… give this a look.  I enjoy it neat, but the brand suggests blending with iced tea made with lapsang souchong tea.
