95% rye, 5% malted barley
51% rye, 45% corn, 4% malted barley
Nose 👃: Caramel. Burnt brown sugar. Rye bread. Orange zest.
Palate 👅: Rye bread. Leather. Ripe banana. Orange zest. Smoked bacon. Medium viscosity mouthfeel. Dry feel.
Finish 🏁: Rye bread. Leather. Orange zest. Black cherry. Long in length. Dry.
Overall thoughts? Oh my… there’s a lot of activity here… and it’s all good! If I was drawing up a finish, I don’t think I’d ever have thought to mix peat & rum… yet here we are… and it’s delicious! I fully appreciate that Doc Swinson’s pushes the envelope… and this one is a winner.
